Where The Energy Is At

Image
Lately I've seen a few people I follow and know talking about, on social media, embracing and igniting their feminine energy and feeling a huge shift in their lives by doing this. Which made me curious about my own energy and where it's at... so I got googling and reading because I honestly knew nothing about it. Any one who's read The Secret will actually know what I'm talking about as this all comes from the law of gender... unfortunately before now it didn't interest me. Just to be clear for those who haven't heard of this concept before, I'm not talking about physical or emotional genders or even sexuality, I'm talking about the energy we engage, focus on, hold, play in or however you want to call it. We've all heard of alpha males right? Well that comes from the masculine energy that someone holds. Immediately I realised from reading just one paper on this (I have read many more), that I engage my masculine energy, probably a solid 90% of t...

A number with too much meaning

Image
Let's get very real right now and I'll admit I'm uncomfortable writing this... I've been holding off on telling anyone about completing my first 16 week challenge with nutritional cleansing and 8 week F45 challenge because I'm straight out ashamed that I didn't achieve everything I wanted. To the point that I skipped out on having my body scan because I didn't want to know the results, didn't want to know if the kilos I'd gained were muscle or fat, didn't want anyone around me to know the numbers.  I know this may sound ridiculous, but if you've battled with your weight and obsessed about it for years like I have, then you know it's a very slippery slope back to where you began and gaining a couple of kilos is the very scary start. I want to be completely honest right now  because I know I'm not the only one who's done things or may do something like this in the future. I'm not the only one who's weight has gone up and dow...

Ego v Romantic Interest

Image
This blog started out as being about my life, everything as a whole, but over time it turned into a dating blog as I had become a serial dater and it was the highlight of my life for a period when I was unhappy in SO many other parts of my life. Like hating my job, spending time with friends to avoid spending time with myself, training at the gym a lot to try and get the body that I thought would make me happy and that I was 'closet eating' by lying to myself about what was going in my mouth. So dating guys and being the judgy mcjudge pants chick that I used to be was amusing and kept me distracted from those other things. I decided that it was time to work on me so 2016 is about me, my health, my dreams and goals, and since the beginning of this year, since moving to Sydney, it would appear from this blog that I wasn't getting amongst the dating scene much because I had been too busy working on me, but to be completely hone...

Freedom?

Image
A  couple of weeks ago, at a morning with amazing likeminded friends, I was asked WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING IF MONEY WASN'T AN ISSUE AND YOU HAD FINANCIAL FREEDOM?  You'd think I'd have an answer for that, but I honesty didn't! I had no idea where I'd want to be, what I'd be doing and couldn't even picture it. I think part of that is because I had a mortgage at 19 and essentially I've been owned by a bank since then. So there I was actually thinking about it... And it looked pretty nice! * A big house by the beach, preferably one street back from the beach at Cottesloe - dream big right?! *No credit card debt  *No boss - yep I said it *Working because I love the products and want everyone to feel as amazing as I do *Giving back and paying it forward to the community *Travelling Australia and the world, when and where I wanted Sounds good right!!!  What if I told you this is possible? It's possible if you want it, if you work for it now, that you can re...

Perfection

Image
Right now in this moment, I feel that my life is truly perfect, my heart and soul are full, I am on the exact path (or dirt track really) that I'm supposed to be.  I got to wake up this morning and reflect on the awesome weekend I've had, where I've seen so many of my loved ones, laughed, cried (thanks Anna and the isa family), shared stories on the struggles, celebrated success and got to acknowledge that, as much as I absolutely love Perth and it's home, my life right now is in Sydney and it's profoundly changed my life for the better.  You might say well she doesn't have a partner, kids, lives far from her family and isn't the thinnest/prettiest/whatever girl in the room... My answer to all you haters and negative Nancy's out there is - how's about you walk a day in my shoes and feel the amount of love, health and happiness I have in my life, you might be surprised to find that it's the same, if not more than you.  Yeh I live a long way from m...

I'm hooked and there's no turning back

Image
I can't believe that Day 30 has rolled around so quick since I started my nutritional cleansing journey... And to say I'm blown away is an understatement. I've managed to change my life so easily that I've barely noticed it most days, from having a shake for breakfast - well I used to do that just with a inferior product that wasn't giving me all the vitamins and minerals I need, to doing a cleanse day - I've dabbled in juice cleanses before which left me tired and hungry, but the difference has 100% been the products. My body has changed in more than just appearance during this time (pics below for those who want to see), I can feel I'm healthier, I train harder, feel stronger and I'm in general just better.  Can I just take a brag moment here and say I've never fit let alone thought I would ever anything size 8 and now I do - WOOHOO!!!!!  Don't get me wrong there were days that weren't all rainbows and butterflies, days when I fell off the ...

Reflecting on the big picture

Image
I've been really pushing myself hard with work lately, essentially taking an active role on a project and still trying to make my mark in the role I actually moved to Sydney for.  Having said that I really do love my job and am grateful for the opportunities I'm given, but after my body revolted against me this week, it's really made me reflect on what I want for myself.  I'm ridiculously lucky to have stumbled across a company and people who can support me in making all my dreams come true, and it's a different company to the one that pays my bills right now. Before you all say 'network marketing' or 'pyramid scheme', I'll admit it is network marketing... But don't put your judgy pants on just yet.  So about a year ago I started following a Facebook page, that came up as a 'suggested page/friend' or something like that, because the people on this page had shared an amazing wedding video, which showed they were incredibly happy, posit...

Pushing past limits and addictions

Image
I used to be a quitter, every time something got too hard, I'd give up and walk away. This is up there with one of the big reasons I never succeeded in weight loss before.  But I've found over the last year that I can put more in then I thought I could, especially when it comes to my health & wellbeing. Firstly with duromine, which I will admit was not a walk in the park with the side effects and, as my friends will admit, the crazies it gave me. And secondly with exercise, I'm now always trying to better my last session, pushing through the limits of my mind.  So I decided I needed to set myself up for success when starting my isagenix journey, this meant I needed to kick habits to move forward. My worst habit was Diet Coke... I used to drink it everyday and am embarrassed to say it was more than just a one can a day addiction. I've attempted to kick it before, clearly unsuccessfully and honestly if I didn't have Diet Coke by about 1-2pm everyday the withdrawal...

A weighty matter

Image
Anyone who's read this blog will tell you it's about my dating experiences and occasionally I'll write about something different. Don't get me wrong, I am still on the hunt for love and still dating, but it is not something I obsess about like I used to and last year I realized I've obsessed about my weight for a lot longer than I have about dating.  I've never been so honest about my weight but I need to get past the walls that have been holding me back, which is why I now feel I've got to talk about it openly and honestly.  Since high school my weight has fluctuated between 75kg and 85kg (a tight size 12 to a comfy size 16) with it only ever going below 75kg when I did extreme diets of basically not eating for a day or two, only to have it bounce back up just as quick. So it was time to take action... And the positive change really started when my mum told me that I should address my weight once and for all, and shouldn't accept many doctors answers th...

Feelings - real or not?

Image
I was talking, to the person I regularly have sexy time with, this evening and we somehow got onto the topic of youth and sex... Well it started from the tv and a display of LMR - last minute resistance, I'd not heard of this before, but it's apparently real and when guys just tell girls it's ok to go slow and then go in for the kill.  He then made  a comment that he didn't think he could sleep with an 18 year old. I said I definitely couldn't do it.  Before I go any further, I'd just like to say that he and I don't talk about these things seriously actually the whole thing of him and I is its all for fun, which works perfect!  Ok back to the topic at hand... Young girls, or boys depending on your tastes, and whether to go there or not. My response as you can all imagine is 'ah hell no!' Because all young ones develop vaginal emotions, or in other words, become stage 5 clingons! We joked about this a bit more and that nobody got time for that shit!  ...

I was left confused to say the least

Image
I don't know if this post is going to make sense because part of this still doesn't make sense to me. Not so long ago, but long enough, I met someone. Someone who had me convinced he was amazing, I was so comfortable and happy that I let my guard down, which for those of you who know me, doesn't happen often.  Letting my guard down is not to be mistaken with me being open because those two things are very different. Letting my guard down is me laying myself, my flaws and my insecurities on the table, it's acknowledging certain things that I don't like to ever raise with people, some of my friends don't know some of the things that I laid out to Mark.  That's his name, Mark, and in true style of this blog, he was known as the radio guy to some of my friends, as he works for 96fm on their breakfast show. There was  something about him, even now I can't work out what it was. He was funny, charming, happy, seemed to have things figured out like me and was in...

Emotional v Unemotional

Image
I've recently been trying to think logically about why I'm single and so many of my friends have met the most amazing men. Is it that I'm career focused, I know exactly who I am, I  am not the thinnest girl going around (and def was a whole lot bigger than I am now about 4-5 months ago), I'm fiercely independent - always gonna stand on my own two feet, or is it that I'm too straight forward, ugh who knows!!  I then realized there's a trend with my friends and their male counterparts.  Most of my friends, like me, are unemotional women. It's not that we don't have emotions, it's that we don't need to use them or wave them around in people's faces. We share things with each other but that's because we are close and sometimes things reach boiling point, which leads to that super awkward moment when water comes out of eyes. Worst situation ever!!  The guys that most of my friends are with are fairly emotional men... Not afraid to express thei...

Sing us a song you're the piano man

Image
It's been a busy couple of weeks and I've been getting back into the swing of dating, although I'm a whole lot less committed to meeting someone cool with my Europe trip fast approaching. The piano man.... Where to start.... Maybe the stats - 32 - never married, no children  - lawyer - lived alone with cute stuffy puppy  - seemed like his mum cooked for him a lot - into music He seemed pretty normal... So I agreed to a date. He was super busy with work so we agreed to meet for a coffee before work one morning. The agreed meeting place was the red piano at Brookfield Place and we had joked about him giving me a private performance.  For those that don't know, Brookfield Place have 3 pianos that anyone can play around the bottom of the building, kinda iconic and super easy to find, they have a red, blue and purple one, weird I know!  So there I was waiting by the red piano to meet him at 8.00am one morning, there was no sign of him but I could hear one of the other pia...

He had a winery but there was the distance

Image
I know there are times that I am very shallow, especially when it comes to hook ups, but I can also admit a winery is something very attractive to me, as is a farm boy. Having grown up on a farm myself I do find it easy to connect with people who grew up the same as me, so when I stumbled across Clint on tinder, it was a big tick for me... So was the winery.  I started talking to Clint back in December when he was in the process of moving back to the family farm/winery after his dad had fallen ill.  The conversation flowed easily with it occasionally turning to a little bit more than flirting, but he was so physically far away - 400kms to be exact. So after about a month I started to realise he was a textophile, which was reiterated when he came to Perth for 2 days, allegedly to see me, then didn't make plans.  I gave him the benefit of the doubt that things had come up, but I also started getting a bit vague and distant until he had plans again to come to Perth a few wee...

40 days

Sorry it's been 40 days since I last posted.  The update - I'm STILL single, haven't been in a proper relationship that's last more than 2 months for too long to mention, and I wonder sometimes if the problem is me? (Don't feel you need to answer that) So... The last 40 days... There's been three guys only, two were only blips on the radar.  Let's start with the blips Rory, he worked in recruitment, he definitely thought he was THE MAN, god's gift to women if you may. We met for what was supposed to be a quick drink, which ended up sharing an uber to our respective houses, (no I didn't let him see where I actually live). It was very very bad partly because he referred to himself in third person when he told a story, secondly because I seem to have lost all my skills to ninja and thirdly because he got all grabby hands with me while waiting for the uber.  As you can imagine there was no good night kiss, just me very quickly jumping out of the car and ...

Alone or lonely?

Image
I experienced a few firsts this Christmas, which got me thinking that I have an amazing family to have not experienced these before. This year was the first time since I left home at 17, that I didn't travel down home on Christmas Eve for Christmas at my folks house, as my sister hosted the family lunch at hers, which was a lovely change. Although this did change a lot of the routine. The usual is, well last 11 years, I've travelled from Perth to my folks place on Christmas Eve with half a million other people travelling south, to spend the evening catching up, cooking and taking my Grandma to midnight mass (10.30pm really at our local church), before champagne breakfast on Christmas morning, family lunch, dinner with close family friends, and my eldest sister and I escaping as soon as night falls to check out Christmas lights in Bunbury. This has been the norm for years and I like it! So this year with it at my sisters house, meant sleeping at my own place, by myse...

Beware... Alcoholic ahead

Image
As you may remember, Chris was my back up date from a couple of weeks ago and dinner was definitely fun! We went to Steves in Nedlands, ate good food and drank nice wine. Although a couple of kinda strange things happened on this date, one being that another guy at the bar tried to sit down with me when Chris was getting the drinks and the other I didn't think anything of until a few days later. Chris was funny, charming, albeit short, but all round nice, but after the first bottle of wine and the food was finished, I was ready to go home. Well not Chris... He was geared up for a big night.  He went and got another bottle of wine, which I only had one glass of as I was driving.  But hey maybe he was nervous or hadn't had a night out in a while, either way I hoped for an excuse for his thirst.  I continued on with the date and thankfully the bar closed at 10.30pm, which was my out to go home. We continued to exchange texts the following few days, which was nice, other than...

Well that's just plain RUDE!

Image
Things reached a whole new level with my dating the other day... And it wasn't a high level that's for sure!!  I've recently gone back on oasis because I do genuinely want to meet someone and dirty tinder isn't the place for it, ok ok I've known this for a while, but I'm lazy.  So I got my oasis on and have found a few people to meet, which kind of renews my hope in finding love.  First there was James - an entrepreneur, who had a farm in the wheatbelt, lots of positives in my eyes, especially given I grew up on a farm! We had made plans for drinks Thursday night that got pushed back to Sunday as he had to work late, so tentative plans for a casual afternoon drink were made.  Second there was Jamie - a tradie, who wanted to meet new people and see what happens like me. We'd also made plans for Sunday, but they were solid, a date booked for 2pm at the Como. Hmm I hate the Como, but thought maybe they've renovated and it was better (totally wrong there it...

Dating a guy and his baggage

Image
I've recently been on two dates with Steve, who as of today, I've burned off my list. Steve's the first guy I've dated who had a child, now that's not significant but definitely raised some complications I hadn't encountered before... Especially when it came to his ex.  I'd again like to point out I only went on two dates with him. He was nice, attractive and hilarious! He was straight forward when it came to his daughter and that he had a good relationship with his ex - so far so good.  Date one went well other than him talking about dating and tinder... Hmm little weird but maybe he was just trying to find some common ground, without talking about his daughter all the time. He made me laugh so I thought it warranted a second date. Well date two, he talked extensively about his wife (oh so she was still his wife, that's different) and about other women he dated, including the last chick he met before me, who, he felt he needed to tell me, didn't loo...

Too heavy too soon

Image
So dating has been slow lately and really I think this might be because I've been a little bit thrown since Chris, just not sure what happened after 3 great dates... Anyway so I thought I'd pull out a older story that definitely falls into the category of different. I linked up with Joe through Oasis (I said it was an old story!) and he seemed very normal to start with and boy did he have charm. After a day or two of chatting online, I agreed to give him my number and we set up a date for a bit later in the week.  He told me he was looking for something real and serious - awesome me too... Little did I realise that he meant he wanted that with me already.  The conversation took a bit of a turn from charming to being very heavy and serious about all the things he wanted in 'our' relationship. He asked if I wanted the same things too because his ex he was recently split from didn't want kids or marriage or something as equally important and he needed to know that we w...
